Chez Berthonet takes its name from a small farming hamlet set above the charming village of Varaignes on the Charente/Dordogne border. Quiet and peaceful, the house stands on its own in the hamlet with delightful views across the fields from the south facing terrace and garden.

This 18th century property will comfortably accommodate two,  with the option of sleeping four or five people. There is one main bedroom of character, fully carpeted, with antique furniture, a king-size bed and a pleasant view from the double doors that lead to the side of the property.  The main bedroom is accessed via an additional sleeping area / dressing room, with a single bed.  A further double sofa bed is available, if required, in the sitting room.

The main door of the house opens into a spacious kitchen with a large open fireplace and dining table, and there is a generous sitting room, with French windows giving access to the terrace and gardens. The house is equipped with all the usual facilities, including shower room / WC, washing machine, kitchen with gas hob/cooker, fridge/freezer. There is also garden furniture (and BBQ) should you wish to sit or eat out on the terrace.
